Burt Snider is the chief mechanic and owner of Snider Automotive. In 1983 Burt began working in a body shop which began a life-long love of automobiles of every make and model. He continued to work in body shops throughout high school and college, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting.
Burt spent two years in the accounting field only to discover he preferred working with cars. In 1994 a friend recommended him for a job as a mechanic at Volvo of Nashville where he was trained and employed. During his tenure, Burt soon received certification as a Volvo Master Technician, and then as a Volvo Expert Technician in 2002.
In 2004 Burt won the Volvo International Service Training Award (VISTA), the highest award granted to the top 20 mechanics in North America. Qualification includes two written tests followed by a regional and national exam. The VISTA winners are awarded a trip to Sweden to visit the home of Volvo and meet the other award winners from around the world. Shortly before leaving Volvo of Nashville and opening Snider Automotive from his home in June 2008, he won the VISTA award for the second time.
Josh Fahrney is a mechanic for Snider Automotive who has been a Volvo technician since 2005, including experience working for Volvo. Josh is currently working on ASE master testing which will certify him as a Volvo Master Technician.
John Phillips joined the team in May 2010 as our service writer. In the Volvo market since 1996, John was in car sales and manager of the parts department for Volvo beginning in 1998. His enthusiasm and knowledge of Volvo parts has been a real asset to out business and to our customers who are looking for genuine parts at affordable prices.
Tim Jorgensen began his work as a Volvo mechanic in 2002 and joined us in April 2010. He moved to Nashville from Chicago where he was employed for 3 years in an independent Volvo repair shop much like Snider Automotive. Tim brings a broad knowledge of different makes and models of vehicles which is invaluable to customers who approach us for repairs on non-Volvo cars. We really appreciate his work ethic and organizational skills.
